Mercedes Benz E-Class Wagon Is Heading to U.S.
Mercedes Benz E-Class Wagon Is Heading to U.S. ? Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will be sending a station wagon version of its recently redesigned E-Class model line to the United States in June 2010.
When it arrives, the E350 4MATIC wagon will be designated as a 2011 model. Mercedes-Benz also confirmed that the wagon version of its redesigned line of E-Class models will arrive in the U.S. in June 2010. It will be sold as a 2011 model and go by the official moniker of “E350 4Matic wagon.”
Like the sedan, the range of engines available for the new wagon will comprise four, six and eight-cylinder units with outputs from 100 kW/136 hp to 386 kW/525 hp – the top end model being the E63 from AMG. The four-cylinder engines are newly developed direct-injection units, which develop a higher output and torque than the comparable V6-engines of the preceding series despite a smaller displacement.
No word on price, but as the E-Class sedan starts at $52,00, expect the wagon to cost more. Same goes for mileage: the sedan gets 16/24 mpg so the slightly heavier AWD wagon should do a bit worse. Over in Europe-land the E-Class wagons get all sorts of different engines ranging from teeny turbo gas engines to bigger boosted diesels.
